As a practitioner, I combine relational psychotherapy with a range of body-oriented approaches to healing. I’ve completed specialized training in several models of attachment and somatic therapies, particularly for clients who have experienced trauma, grief and loss, relationship distress, depression, anxiety, and dissociative disorders. These include:
Dynamic Enriched Experiential Psychotherapy, an experiential attachment-based approach;
Somatic Experiencing, an in-depth model for supporting somatic resolution of trauma;
Integral Somatic Psychology, a model that integrates Eastern and Western approaches to somatic and attachment work, focusing on emotion and energy;
Somatic Attachment Group Psychotherapy, an approach to facilitating process groups that emphasizes both connectedness and individuality;
EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, a method of trauma resolution that incorporates eye movement.
In all my work, I draw extensively on my training as a yoga instructor (RYT) and my decades-long somatic practices of Iyengar, Anusara, and Kundalini yoga, Authentic Movement/Contemplative Dance, Contact Improvisation, and long-distance running. I received my Master’s in Counseling from St. Edward’s University and worked in agency settings before starting a private practice. These include YWCA Austin, Hospice Austin, Austin Recovery, and Tejas Family Guidance Center. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (license #70724) and a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner.
I’m very committed to my own growth, as a clinician and as a human being, and I engage earnestly in professional development and lifelong learning. I take part in ongoing consultation and post-advanced training with senior mentors in attachment-based and somatic psychotherapy and other advanced practitioners. I also participate in a longterm modern analytic training group as well as a somatic attachment training group to continue to advance my knowledge of theory as well as my self-understanding. My approach to psychotherapy and life is highly influenced by my study of non-dual spiritual traditions as well as ceremonial plant medicines and transcendental breath work practices.

And this is Thomas. He likes to sit in on Zoom sessions when I’m working from my home office.
